Project Description: SmartBand® Multiband Ligation kit for endoscopic ligation of esophageal varices.

Roles & Responsibilities: Product Visualisation, Technical Documentation, Device Packaging Design, Packaging Artwork, IFU Documentation & Illustrations 

I have fond memories of this project as the work I was responsible for was not the device design but, many of the ‘first impressions’ elements of the system. In particular, creating the Ligation Kit inlay card to secure all components for rigorous testing and enhanced user experience was a great puzzle to solve.

Following FDA clearance for endoscopic ligation, the SmartBand earned an exclusive distribution agreement with Olympus America Ltd. The device is used to treat conditions associated with cirrhosis of the liver, a disease that afflicts millions of people every year.
